Re-Purpose!

So this is the best I can do for a picture sisters! This is what you get. It's not like I was going to take a shower. I wanted you to notice the dress, not me! Shinny took this picture at her house this weekend while all the children were melting around us.

Just wanted to tell you about the dress I made this summer. The skirt was taken from a Tommy Hilfiger dress I'd had since 2004 which I had tired of, and the arms had yellowed. The top is the top half of an Old Navy maternity top I bought in 2007. Since I was going to send both this pieces to Salvation Army I figured I had nothing to lose by attempted to revitalize them. I definitely have to give most of the technical support thanks to my Mom! But I will take credit for the design.

And as for the trio of yellow roses, I had a sash-like belt that I had bought at Salvation Army a few years ago which I only bought bc of the fun color. I cut it into three pieces, got a book at the library to teach me how to make cloth roses, and sewed 'um up. That was the funnest part. Don't you love the flower details everywhere you look lately?!

Get Cozy for Fall

I am obsessed with this style of shirt this fall for lots of reasons. Check out LLBean's lightweight woven tunics. I plan to order one or two of these in the next week or so, and I'll let you know if I like them as much when they come.
I think they'll be a great looking casual shirt. As I am newly pregnant they should make a great "transition to big belly" shirt. I can appreciate the looseness around the midsection these days even when I'm not pregnant since this will be my fourth child. If your six pack is not what it used to be, try this easy style.

P.S. Wear this shirt with jeggings or skinny jeans for a more clean (stylish) look. I think I'll wear my riding boots as well!
